I quite like my Onitsuka Tigers. Nearly as narrow as Chucks, but comfortable. They are also super light. I would post a photo, but Kinja.

I’m sure I look like a douche when I wear them, but my driving shoes are Adidas Kurobe II water shoes. Skinny soles with lots of grip, lots of control with even a toe press - I love em

So far, my rankings of driving shoes have been: Converse > Vans > winter boots > dress shoes. Fuck driving in dress shoes.

can confirm a newly installed sprung 6 puck ceramic clutch and brogues is not a good idea.

They’re not that thick. I dunno, just like the feel of driving in them.

Get different dress shoes if they are worse than winter boots. That sounds terrible.

Or I just have pretty great winter boots. I’m more used to driving in boots due to location, and I in general don’t wear dress shoes that often. Granted, I haven’t driven in my brogues yet, so maybe that’d be fine.

I can see shoes that aren’t worn very often being uncomfortable. The best driving shoes are ones broken in.

Ecco, Rockport, Cole Haan, and Johnston & Murphy among others aren’t bad to drive in.
Stay away from only thick wood heeled shoes in general and you’ll be fine.
If I’m going to be driving on some fun roads I’ll usually bring my preferred driving shoes along (some knit running shoes which I can slip on and off). Changing when I park isn’t too bad.

I didn’t realize they were that thick at all? Seem kind of flimsy and thin to me.

Honestly I haven’t work them since middle school. Maybe I should try some though. I need something just a smidge classier than running shoes.

I have been using various Puma’s for years. Am I doing this wrong?
This is an honest question. I think they are great, and quite comfortable. Also, I think I have only ever paid $40 for each pair I have had.

Ive had multiple pairs of similar puma’s.
Walking around long distances with them isnt very fun, but they are just perfect for driving!

Dressy Driving loafers are actually really nice to drive in too....
basically anything low cut, and snug, light and minimal sole.

The only shoe I use 3/4 of the year even though I have to use insoles for my high arches. Breaking in the high tops lets you do things.
